What
"Help is only a Tweet away"
Twitassist.me is the easy way to raise money, donate and track fundraising campaigns using Twitter.
Inspired by a friend who tweeted, "If each of my 500 followers gave me $0.50, then I could buy a new iPhone." We figured someone should facilitate that and we thought we'd give it a try.
Plus, TwitPay.me's FAQ says it's a billion dollar industry (orsomethinglikethat).

Hey Jeremy, I’m sure you’re busy, but would you mind sharing what stuff kept breaking. We would really like to get it fixed as soon after as possible. The only thing I knew of was the authentication process while mid stream creating a Cause. What else did you see?
A lot of stuff kept breaking when I clicked it, but I really like the idea! Seeing all the charity-/cause-oriented Twitter apps popping up is cool.
This is the only app which promised to put money in my bank account.
Initial rating: four starts, going to five if I meet my, um, goals, if you know what I mean.
It’s actually a nice integration with twitpay and adds a layer on top of that service which shows a real understanding of the field. The interactions are well designed and the app is pleasant to use.
Thanks for the feedback tasaro. Our friend did not raise the funds for the phone despite the responses of his geo-distributed followers. We were hoping to remove the location barrier and make it fun.
I suspect the inability to create a cause was due to a bug that reveals itself when someone authenticates in during the creation process. You should be able to create your own cause now after you’re authenticated.
Thanks again!
Great innovation and inspiration (did he raise the funds for the phone?). Although creating my own TwitAssist failed a few times, I was able to play off other’s requests. I think there is good potential here – and perhaps a second level of service which makes the promises legally binding would be a plus? You may also want to consider a method to perform an anonymous promise (which isn’t tweeted).
