What

(http://www.gemfeed.com) Gemfeed collects information about gem updates and allows users to subscribe to a feed in various ways so they can be notified when they happen. Right now there's no great way to know when gems you're interested in change, and this will fill that need. We also determine popularity based on the number of people watching each gem and use it to create interesting trend data.

Thanks for the comments. We have a number of features we’re excited to add to gemfeed after the judging and these are some great ideas. Some way to automatically subscribe to gems is at the top of the list, and a gem plugin along with an easier way to add them in bulk through the web site sounds perfect. I also wanted to note that we have email and twitter integration that you can get to through your account page if you’re logged in, which we forgot to provide an easy way to get to at the last minute.

+1 @tankow. The main drawback from a usability standpoint is that when I “subscribe” to a gem there is no link to return to the gem index (personal or all). Using the back button made me feel dirty.

It’d be nice if there was a way to easily submit all the gems I already have installed.. like through a gem plugin or something. Good general idea but I think it’s not really a standalone thing in the long run.

This is something i have been wanting for awhile. It will definitely prove useful in my search for functionality. Once this is polished up, it will be a useful resource.

A small spelling mistake in the tags, configuraiton should be configuration.
