What

Ever wasted more than 5 minutes figuring out what to eat for dinner tonight? MealEtte is for you. (If you haven’t wasted any time, please let me in on your secret.)

MealEtte is designed to take the guesswork out of meal planning. By entering your Recipes you’ll have access to the MealEtte Roulette O’matic. Using sophisticated computer algorithms, artificial intelligence, and computer-geekery the Roulette O’matic is able to pick random meals for your consumption.

So sit down, get hungry, and spin the wheel.

I had to give this a low score for usefulness because I make almost the same food every night. Here’s what I do: I heat up beans (either black and garbanzo) with semi-randomly-selected frozen vegetables (usually mushrooms and spinach) and then slice up broccoli along with semi-randomly-selected vegetables (usually tomatoes, onions, peppers, jalapenos, and other whatnot) and then make all that into less than a salad but more than a salsa. I eat this way because I had some health problems and eating this way I’ve lost about 70 pounds in about five months. It’s very unusual, but the thing is, before I adopted this approach, MealEtte still wouldn’t have been that useful, because I used to eat out almost every night (which is why I needed to lose 70 pounds) and I usually decided based on where I happened to be.

I don’t find MealEtte very useful, however it does exactly what it says it does. Not fond of the design. Spinning the wheel through other users’ meals is a nice touch and could keep one from getting bored with the same old.

Explaining the point of the site on the front page is good (and actually sets this app above the average I’ve seen so far). Not keen on how long the “dummy” anonymous username is.

I kinda liked the concept and getting that wheel spinning was quite impressive. I’m not too keen on the design overall but, again, it’s above average for what I’ve seen so far on RR.

I could actually imagine people using this app and it’s above average, though I can’t get much more excited about that as it’s not exactly my cup of tea. Good work though.
