How does this app differ from something like evite or doodle to get folks together?
Need 12hr time selectors. Tried submitting something and it didn’t seem to go through. Great idea, just need a better UI….
I think there are some competitors of yours (that I unfortunately looked at first) that have a ton more functionality for a meetup website. It looks like you did a good job with what you did though.
I’d love for this to have a feature like “at most seven people” and auto-close registration for the event once the limit is reached. That way I’d be able to use it for my boardgame meetings. :)
Didn’t seem to work for me?
Date / time entry also annoying.
Love the clean and simple design.
Nicely executed too, but probably doesn’t have enough to make me remember to use it next time I’m organising something. It’s just too much easier when facebook serves so many of life’s needs (albeit maybe not as well) in the one place.
Possibly a feature to follow up with attendees closer to the time to confirm availability would be a handy addition.
Good work!
Facebook already does this and much more within a better and more attractive framework.
@leahculver: In the email you receive as the get-together’s creator you can find your personal voting URL as well.
Clean and simple. Love it!
The design is nice and clean and the URL shortening is fantastic. I’m not really sure how to vote for a venue (can I vote if I created the event??) but the email invites work perfectly.
It’s wonderful how simple this is. The design is wonderful too. Especially the little rawwrrr wadus monster. I love it. Perfect UX. You don’t need to sign up for anything. You get automatic URL shortening which also operates as obfuscation for privacy. So simple, so clean. Every app should be like this.
I really like what you’ve done here. A common problem with a simple solution. No need to create accounts and it only takes a few seconds to get an event set up.
I never received the e-mail invitation that I created. I also didn’t notice (unless I missed it?) a way to edit or add dates/venues after the initial creation. Another suggestion is to possible send a notice to all attendees when an event has been cancelled. All around good job!
I love the quirky visual design of the site. It helps express the simplicity of the app. This app innovates by non innovating, and in the era of Evite, I think that’s a wonderful thing. It wasn’t immediately apparent that one of the main goals of this was to pick a date/venue from a list of choices. Maybe call a bit more attention to that. I also love that you don’t have to have any kind of account to use this. Little one-off invites for casual events don’t warrant it, and it’s nice to see someone finally realize that. Well done!
A simple idea with a simple execution. Not a ton of innovation here, as there are lots of other event organization tools out there, but it definitely is one of the most minimalist that I’ve seen. And minimalist is good.
This may sound strange but I really like the subtle design you did here. The flat two-tone with subtle neon highlights really works for me, and gives it a distinct look.
